Howard Campbell Morgan

On behalf of Interfaith America, we invite you to join us in celebrating the life and legacy of Howard Morgan, a distinguished Chicagoan and IA Board Chair Emeritus. We honor his contributions and the profound impact he had on our community in our thoughts, memories, and reflections below.

Howard C. Morgan, Board Chairman of Interfaith America from 2010-13, died peacefully on January 1, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. He guided the organization through a pivotal time, helping it go from a determined startup known as Interfaith Youth Core to a widely respected and thriving national institution. After his service on the board, he was named a Life Director and was a valued mentor to IA leaders and staff. He also held the position of Board Chair at Lincoln Park Zoo, Chicago Theological Seminary and Executive Service Corps of Chicago. He was a Senior Vice President at Citibank for 43 years.

Stories, Memories, & Wishes for the Family

“While Howard was judicious with his words, he was generous with his actions. He led by example – showing up at Interfaith America’s community events to convey to the college students and community activists we were training in interfaith bridge building skills that their leadership mattered. … He helped me become the leader that the institution deserved.”
