Susan Haarman

Director of Campus Partnerships

Susan Haarman, Ph.D., is thrilled to be joining Interfaith America as Director of Campus Partnerships after almost two decades of working in Catholic higher education and is passionate about Interfaith America’s efforts to promote religious and civic pluralism across all aspects of university life. She previously served as Associate Director of Loyola University Chicago’s Center for Engaged Learning, Teaching, and Scholarship facilitating the university’s service-learning program and faculty development. Susan came to love the pursuit of pluralism through the work of John Dewey’s philosophy of education and democracy and her research has focused on civic identity, imagination, community-based learning, and Catholic Social Teaching. Previous to these roles, Susan served in campus ministry and has an M.Div and a Master in Community Counseling.
