Shawn Dove is a catalytic leader with nearly 40 years of experience in youth development, community building, philanthropy, and narrative change. He serves as Managing Partner at New Profit, a venture philanthropy firm investing in proximate social entrepreneurs expanding access to opportunities in America. He also curates The Well, New Profit’s flagship convening that gathers multiracial, intergenerational, cross-sector (M.I.C.) coalition of leaders working across historical differences to expand opportunities. Shawn is also the founder of the Corporation for Black Male Achievement, a platform for telling stories of loving, learning and leading by and for Black men and boys.

Shawn previously led the Campaign for Black Male Achievement, launched by Open Society Foundations, helping to catalyze initiatives like My Brother’s Keeper, NYC Young Men’s Initiative and Cities United. His earlier roles include leadership at the Harlem Children’s Zone, National Guild of Community Schools of the Arts, First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens and MENTOR/National Mentoring Partnership. He is co-author of I Too Am America: On Loving and Leading Black Men & Boys (2022). He is married to his divine mate, Desere, and is the proud poppa of his four adulting children, Noa, Maya, Cameron and Caleb.
