Amena Khan

Program Manager

As a member of the Racial Equity team, Amena advances programs centered on the intersectionality of race and interfaith cooperation. A Graduate from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Amena holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with minors in Sociology and Asian American Studies, as well as a master’s degree in Social Work. With a passion for community bridge building, Amena is engaging partners in IA’s Vote is Sacred project, exploring the relationship between interfaith connections, race, and voting, as a means to reduce barriers and increase civic engagement across diverse populations. Apart from her professional work, Amena enjoys volunteering in her local community creating faith-based youth development projects, and trying all the new pizza places in Chicago! Inspired by the idea that communities work better together, Amena believes that meaningful connections through interfaith diversity create a more inclusive and compassionate society.
