Over the past few years many people have experienced a fracturing in communal life. Whether it be isolation stemming from COVID 19 precautions or separation caused by ongoing political polarization; a growing sense of division is common to many of us living in the United States. If we wish to rise to the pressing challenges of our times (an enduring global pandemic, racial inequality, climate change etc.) our nation needs interfaith leaders who can break barriers and build bridges across differences.
IFYC Alumni successfully collaborate across difference throughout many sectors of society by employing an interfaith lens. Thus, we are proud to support the ongoing leadership development and impact of our Alumni with the Interfaith Innovation Fellowship. The Fellowship awards $5,000 to 10 interfaith leaders, each with an inspirational vision for social change.
2022’s Fellows were selected this winter from an impressive network of IFYC Alumni possessing the skills and knowledge for interfaith leadership in a variety of sectors, including faith, healthcare, education, the justice system, and public health. We are excited to announce this year’s cohort of 10 religiously diverse and accomplished innovators who view racial equity and interfaith cooperation as central to their calling and commitments.
In addition to the $5,000 award, Fellows will network with cohort members and learn from one another’s projects, participate in an intensive retreat geared toward their professional development, and receive ongoing support to grow their leadership experience through mentorship with senior-level IFYC staff.
We look forward to celebrating the impactful work of these Fellows who share IFYC’s pluralistic vision of a country united around the common good. Their leadership committed to racial equity and interfaith cooperation fosters the kind of rich collaboration across difference this nation needs to transform America into the promise of what it can be but has not yet been.
