Introducing… Interfaith America with Eboo Patel
We are so excited to announce the launch of “Interfaith America with Eboo Patel.” Host Eboo Patel, founder and president of Interfaith America, speaks with a rotating guest list of civic leaders and bridgebuilders working in diverse sections of American civic life. The podcast is inspired by the Islamic concept of “Deen and Dunya” — Faith and the World – which has anchored Eboo Patel’s approach to building Interfaith America, the nation’s premier civic organization focused on the positive engagement of religious diversity. Patel, a renowned interfaith leader, will be speaking with artists, intellectuals, civic leaders and politicians, people with beliefs that range from spiritualist to traditionalist, all in the hopes of illuminating the connection between cosmic visions and concrete social change.
Host a Listening Party
We are looking for meaningful engagement with and feedback on this podcast. To that end, we are offering members of the Emerging Leaders Network this award opportunity to organize and host a listening party to discuss and review one episode of the podcast.
Award Details
Eligibility
Only available to members of the Emerging Leaders Network (formerly the Alumni Network of IFYC). Applicants must not be past due on any other current or active Emerging Leaders grant or fellowship opportunities. Funding from this grant can only be awarded to applicants in the U.S.
Amount
Awards will be for $800. Up to $350 of the proposed budget can be used to support the awardee for their time. At least $450 needs to go to program expenses such as food costs and/or room rentals.
Timeline
The application is open from October 12th to November 10th, 2022. Applicants will be informed of their status by November 20th, 2022. Feedback must be submitted by March 1st, 2023.
Purpose
These awards are intended to facilitate meaningful engagement in the podcast and to provide members of the Emerging Leaders Network additional opportunity to practice and develop their skills in interfaith cooperation, community organizing, and bridge building.
Event Plan
Successful applicants will have a clearly articulated plan for how they will use their award funds to organize and host their listening party, from recruiting party attendees to sharing feedback.
