The Good Neighbors Fellowship

Inspiring, equipping, and connecting emerging evangelical leaders to build a healthy public and a cultivate common good.

Overview

The Good Neighbors Fellowship will bring together 10 emerging evangelical (and evangelical-adjacent) scholar-practitioners to model how evangelicals can contribute to and learn from a religiously pluralist U.S. society.

Grounded in IA’s vision of pluralism and interfaith cooperation, the fellowship equips young scholars and leaders to: 1) Demonstrate how evangelicals can serve as bridgebuilders in a religiously diverse society and ever polarizing political climate; 2) Cultivate a community of thought leaders who are rooted in faith and committed to collective flourishing; and 3)  Develop insightful public scholarship and constructive resources that promote religious pluralism in and for Christian faith communities.

In its pilot year, these Fellows will produce an essay series in partnership with a leading evangelical publication or organization and also curate resources, devotionals, and/or other materials that highlight the intersection of evangelical faith and religious pluralism for Christian audiences.

Details

The Good Neighbors Project, an expansion of Evangelicals in a Diverse Democracy, continues the work of inspiring and equipping evangelicals to build bridges across differences in our polarized society. Our aim is to narrate a new story of how evangelicals can live faithfully and neighborly in a world they don’t control, nurture the next generation of evangelicals as they wrestle with how to live out their faith in a polarized and contentious climate, and nourish Christian communities through relationships, resources, and collaborative efforts towards the common good.

How do evangelical Christians live faithfully and neighborly in a world they don’t control?

Evangelicals remain a key influential demographic in the United Sates as they shape American culture, politics, and society. However, evangelicalism is also an incredibly diverse tradition that has varied expressions across the United States and globe. This Fellowship seeks to represent the wide range of evangelical belief and practice in demonstrating how all evangelicals are welcome to take up this work of pluralism.

The Good Neighbors Fellowship is currently an invite-only opportunity. If you would like to apply to this opportunity in the future or recommend a Christian leader, please contact us.
